As a Starbucks barista, you'll create the Starbucks Experience for our customers through excellent service and expertly-crafted products. You'll be in an energetic store environment where you'll have the ability to master your food & beverage craft, work alongside friends and meet new people every day. A cup of coffee and smile can go a long way, and we believe our baristas have the power to be the best moment in each customer's day. Essential Functions and Responsibilities

• Delivers legendary service to all customers by acting with a "customer comes first" attitude and connecting with the customer. Responds to customer needs and says thank you to every customer.
• Anticipates customer and store needs by constantly evaluating environment and customers for cues. Discover customer needs and appropriately suggests product with every customer to enhance service and meet your sales goals.
• Assists customers in the selection and purchase of specialty coffee beverages and whole bean sales (as applicable).
• Maintains customer service area and equipment in a clean and appealing manner.
• Demonstrates "Just Say Yes" behavior when taking care of customer needs.
• Provides quality beverages, and food products consistently for all customers by adhering to all recipe and presentation standards.
• Follows health, safety and sanitation guidelines for all products.
• Follows store policies and procedures for operational flow at each station.
• Performs cleaning tasks in accordance with the Duty Rosters and cleaning standards and works as a store team player.
• Presents oneself professionally and demonstrates clear communication with all customers and interactions with fellow associates.
• Follows standards for merchandising, stocking, rotating and storing all products.
• Performs equipment maintenance in accordance with preventative maintenance checklist.
• Follows cash handling and register policies.
• Follows inventory stocking and recording guidelines.
• Other duties assigned by supervisor.
• Be open to suggest any ideas for improvement.
• Arrive punctually and consistently for work for normally scheduled hours.
• Contribute to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
• Learns and demonstrates creating the Starbucks Experience.
• Completes Initial Store Training and passes barista certification with a score of 90% or better.

Working Conditions

This job is an onsite position that operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as laptop computers, photocopiers and smartphones.

Physical Requirements

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and ability to adjust focus. Must have the ability to lift 10 pounds frequently and up to 50 pounds occasionally. Ability to reach and carry products from storage to café area.

Qualifications

Required Education and Experience

• A High School Diploma or equivalent.

Preferred Experience

1. Previous Starbucks or coffee shop experience
2. Knowledge of Starbucks policies and procedures.
